| Bah, just put on your ninja hat and sneak that bastard out of there.
And on a somewhat related note, when did hardcover prices drop so much? For $16.19 (Amazon's current price), I should just pre-order the bat rastard now. Don't remember the last hardcover I ordered being that low. | |

| I ordered all three books of the Mistborn series in hardcover for that much. I think they were on sale from how cheap they already are compared to buying them in a store. | |

| Estimated delivery November 8, 2010 - November 15, 2010 Piffle. Ah well, still have to re-read tGS before it gets here. Ended up ordering Way of Kings and Law of Nines while I was at it. Probably a good thing there's not a book store within driving range of where I live, I'd be broke all the time. | |

| Got it Friday evening, just finished it for the second time. Must say, with all the loose plot threads and possible events, I've really no clue how A Memory of Light is gonna play out. | |

| I think they can finish it off in the next book. I had wondered before hand if they'd be able to do enough in Towers of Midnight to make that possible, but they did get all the plotlines far enough along that a long book (800-1000 pages) could finish it all.

| Certainly hope so. Be nice to get a clarification on the timeline in the next one, all the back-and-forth here is a tad confusing. Only plotline I'm truly uncertain of at this point though is Aviendha's, seems she should be able to return well before the big meeting. The next year or so (or however long) of waiting is gonna suck. | |

| I'd say it's more NECESSARY for her to return before the big meeting. - Spoiler:
Actually, I'm not so certain about that. I had assumed that at this big meeting is when Rand would insist on peace between the nations, and the Seanchan, as she saw in her visions and I'm assuming that Aviendha will have something to say about that. But that would be kind of hard unless Tuon/Fortuona shows up to agree to it.
Damn... as I think about it, I'm starting to have doubts. Rand still has to make some kind of agreement with the Seanchan, Mat I'm assuming has to meet Tuon again for SOME reason, the Black Tower still needs to be addressed, Mat and Thom need to get Moiraine back to see Rand and company, the meeting still has to happen, and all of this before the meeting happens.
And on another note, do you think that they tipped their hands at all in this book in regards to whether Rand will live through the Last Battle or not? Min has her vision about Aviendha bearing a butt load of his children, and she had her visions of all her children fucking things up for the Aiel. Thus far she has only done the horizontal mamba with him once and didn't get pregnant, so it stands to reason that she will still need years of time with him to get to that point. And since the Last Battle seems to be about to happen in a mere week (maybe a month), would it not mean that Rand MUST survive it?
Also, there is the prophecy of Rhuidean which says that Rand is supposed to break the Aiel but help save a remnant of a remnant or something. Aviendha's vision seems to show that they survive perfectly well after the Last Battle, and only become shattered as a nation long afterwards when they make war against the Seanchan. So I'm assuming that the peace he will insist on making between everyone is supposed to have something to do with that vision, assuming that the vision is prophetic and not something that is the result of Aviendha's own fears and doubts.

| Ah, there is a spoiler tag. - Spoiler:
Trying to sort out the time line in my head, so this might not matter/make sense to anyone but me. In The Shadow Rising, everyone arrive at Cold Rocks Hold from Rhuidean on the 12th day. Aviendha's been running, so figure about half that for her to arrive. Rand & Mat came out of the city on the 7th day, but I figure it was the fog around the city that was messing with the time flow, since Mat never entered the pillars (though the redstone doorway could account for that). We don't know how long Avi's been in the pillars, figure at least a day for each trip through, if not the full 7 (so 14 for both). So for her leaving Rhuidean we're talking at least a week (10 days in WoT world) to a potential 21 days since she left Rand at what's-his-name's manor house. Rand left for Bandar Eban after Aviendha left for Rhuidean, and according to this chronology leaves Bandar Eban after 18 days, then Travels to Dragonmount 4 days after that. So that's 22 days from Avi leaving to Rand laughing again. She wants time after the pillars in the Waste to think, but in theory, she should able to return to the Wise Ones bloody well before Rand shows up at the White Tower, let alone the big meeting at the end of Towers of Midnight. With 28 days to the month, that's a full 50 days/5 weeks from her leaving to the big meeting, plenty of time to return to the other Wise Ones and sort some things out. Have a feeling we'll be going back in the time line again in the beginning of AMoL for her to catch up; my current best guess is she's with the "not a few Aiel" from Tear mentioned at the end of ToM.

| - Spoiler:
The problem with Aviendha's second time through the pillars is that not everything jives with prophesy's that have been given. Fortouna thinks Rand is suppossed to bow to her. And this is the scenario that was given to happen on Aviendha's second walk through.
That prophecy is incorrect. It was messed up by Ishamael. We know that the empress will actually need to bow to Rand. That is something that will need to occur next book.
Also, another problem is that i'm 99.8% sure that Mat will be fighting (decimating) the Seanchan before the final battle. I know this due to Egwanes dreams and that fact that Mat is ''the fox that makes the ravens fly."

| - Spoiler:
I'm not so sure about that. All that I recall Aviendha's future-visions mentioning was that Fortuona was considered to have been honourable by Aiel standards, and that she first agreed to and then kept the peace negotiated by Rand for all the nations. I don't recall that it ever mentioned Rand bowing before her. And I had forgotten about Egwene's dream about Mat. That's something else that will have to happen in the last book now, and presumably would involve at least a few chapters: for the preparation on Fortuona's side to attack one of the nations that they do not hold (I'm assuming Tar Valon or Caemlyn? Though I have a sneaking suspicion that they might even think of attacking their meeting, since they might few such a massive gathering as preperation to attack THEM), for Mat to get into position to take some of his dragons from Caemlyn along with his army to fight her back, for the actual fight, and for the fallout. Hmmm... now I'm REALLY starting to wonder how its all going to be wrapped up in just one book. I'm hoping, if it would take so long, they just release a longer book - say 1000 pages. I DON'T want to wait ANOTHER year or so before it F***ing finishes

Page 729 almost the bottom of the page. "What care do they have for the Dragon?" Hehyal asked. "They are invaders who forced him to bow to their Empress. She is considered above him. They will not keep promises they made to an inferior."

| Heh I actually DO remember that part now. Don't know why I didn't at first. The passage I was thinking about was a subsequent vision, and THATS where I missed the specific wording: - page 733:
The old empress, the one who had ruled during the days of the Last Battle, had been considered a woman of honour by Ronam's father. An understanding had nearly (< the word I missed) been reached with her, so it was said.

| So while i was 'kinda scared' about her vision through the pillars, I realized it's probably not going to happen that way. To many inconsistencies. | |
