When do we start discussions? *BOOK CLUB RELATED*

I guess I need to know how we're gonna go about scheduling. I'm guessing that if we start reading in January, we shouldn't start discussions until about a week or so into reading. Pyro mentioned something about starting to read on the 4th, meaning right around the 11th (a Monday) we would begin discussions.

How about a weekly chat for AGoT beginning on Monday the 11th, and then a weekly chat for TEotD beginning on Thursday the 14th?

Of course we can be as flexible as we want to be. I just think we need to avoid mixing up the books in a chat session. Of course we can also have threads to discuss the books during the week.

What are your thoughts?

On Mondays i'd be more apt to just discuss the book in a thread, since i work late. But yeah, that sounds fine otherwise. Most of my discussion will probably be in a thread.

This also means i'll need to go get the other book.

Don't feel obligated to get the book, of course. And when I say the schedule can be flexible, I mean it.

I like the idea of having a thread rather than doing chats, since my work schedule along with school will have me out and about on inconsistent nights/times.

As for when we start, the 11th sounds as good as anything for me.

Threads are a good idea. That way it's more permanent and others can read it. I will also be able to read only one at a time. I'm anticipating a heavier work load this trimester, and I'm expecting to pick up additional responsibility in my gaming clan in the near future.

I could also post comments from any chat transcripts, if we were to chats. Not that it matters one way or the other.

I don't know WHEN I'll be able to actually contribute. I have been unable to read the past two weeks due to my work.

I haven't actually started reading the books yet either. I need to just sit down and read them.

I admit, I have read all 4 books in that series since "we" started them.
